Our Trips -

Our Trips

From one week to one month, our trips are planned to make it work with finances, location, and timing.    With finances short, it sometimes keeps our trip duration to just the bare minimum, usually 7-10 days.  With the distances to travel to these exotic locations we are so in love with, a week is sometimes all we can manage.  With kids in school, not all trips are as long as we would like.  So sometimes we make it short and sweet, and sometimes we draw it out and make the most out of our time exploring.  Our basic rule of thumb is how many hours it takes to get there – is the minimum number of days we need to stay to get the most out of every moment.

Travelling is filled with experiences and can become tiring if you are always trying to document and make the trip the best it can possibly be.  Some of you may not understand getting tired from a trip, but most of our vacations and travel experiences are fairly fast paced and are used for exploration of this wonderful planet we live on.

We generally try to squeeze in a few days of late wakeups, some beachdays, and some family time, but family travel is usually filled with heavier than usual bags, early starts, changing trains and planes, and walking way more than the usual 10,000 steps (closer to 40,000/day).  Added to that is the unforeseen situations you must deal with, like strikes, making reservations, traffic, and just finding a place to eat or use the restroom.

Every country is different and each has its’ pros and cons.  Some are organize, while others are not so much.  We love taking all of it in stride even if it does make us sweat, stress, and occasionally lose our cool.  Travel for us is the experience of learning and the openness of allowing the universe to change your expectations.  From missing a train or getting a flat tire, to flight delays and weather hiccups somehow the universe always makes you have to open up to the fluidvibe of the earth. These random experiences are far from random in the masive context of the world and usually end you up meeting your next best friend or seeing the most amazing location you never thought possible.

This is where we came up with the name of fluidvibe.  You must always go with the flow even if it sucks and takes more energy than you are used to.  To stay fluid and go with the flow is like catching that perfect wave or skiing that untouched powder, everything seems to work out even better than expected as long as you stay open to changes and things that are not in your control.
